I do not love. - Promises & Crosses

I do not love. is the moniker of Massachusetts based musician Gregory Carl Miller. For more than two years he's been giving us samples of his talent through various mostly digital releases, yet today his long-awaited first physical full-length album came out on French indie label Beko Disques. "Promises & Crosses" is about broken promises, solitude, disappointment and emotional 'crosses' that everyone has to bear sometimes. However, the dynamic synth tunes of all songs remind us that from anything bitter something beautiful may come out in the end. In idnl.'s case it's this album.

Lightning in a Twilight Hour - Everyone Talks About The Weather

The name Bobby Wratten should sound familiar to indie pop lovers. Former Field Mice and Trembling Blue Stars member has formed a new project called Lightning in a Twilight Hour and a couple of months ago shared "The Memory Museum", a gift-song for their fans available for free download along with the news of an upcoming album release. This week, "Everyone Talks About The Weather" saw the light. Despite the title suggestion, the song falls short of being ordinary. Instead, it follows the successful recipe of atmospheric pop already known to Wratten's fans. It is just an appetizer from the Slow Changes mini-LP, which will be out February 9th (on 10” transparent vinyl) on Elefant Records.

Grave Pool - Mnemonics

We got to know Grave Pool in the spring of 2014 when they published their first track Frost Pockets and an excellent cover of Another Sunny Day's You Should All Be Murdered. It was right then that we knew that a new dream pop genius had been born. Grave Pool appears to be the moniker of a Nashville, TN musician we know little about, such as his love for too much phaser, tape delay, reverb and dinosaurs. A few days ago he came back with the news of his first EP Mnemonics which will be out February 17th on 80s Ladies Records. Here's a lovely video for the title track:

Talking Bush - Tell Me

Talking Bush is the most recent project by Nikita Bushmanov originating from St. Petersburg, Russia. Having been making music for five years, he is here to take the indiepop world by storm. Tell Me, the first track out of his upcoming EP, perfectly balances between jangly guitars and postpunk melancholy similar to The Smiths'.
